LA DOLFINA MAKES IT TWO IN A ROW

Coming off a major victory in the first leg of the Triple Crown last month La Dolfina took it to Ellerstina in a big way in the finals of Hurlingham.
It was the fourth year in a row that the same two teams met in the finals.
Facundo Pieres was first to score for Ellerstina on a 60-yard penalty shot and his team had a two-goal lead at the end of the first chukker. After two periods it was Ellerstina 5 and La Dolfina 4. The game was tied at 7-all after three with both teams looking evenly matched until Adolfo Cambiaso scored two unanswered goals in the fourth to put La Dolfina out in front for the first time 9 to 7.

The second half saw Cambiaso knock in two more goals, which gave the momentum to the defending champions to build their confidence for the rest of the match. All eyes were on Adolfo’s cloned mare “Show Me” who made an impressive appearance late in the 6th period. Ellerstina struggled with get within a one point on three goals by Facundo but they fell short in the final period losing 18 to 16.
Winning Team: La Dolfina
It’s on to the final leg of the Triple Crown at Palermo where both squads are favored to make it to another showdown in the finals. A win in December for La Dolfina would give them a sweep of this years Triple Crown in Argentina.
